ballpark_with_logo.jpgOriginally known as Bomber Field in honor of its first the 1947 Bombers, the ballpark was constructed over 60 years ago. The field was renamed Travis Field in the mid 1950s and has been home to baseball at all levels ever since, ranging from Little League to Collegiate Club baseball. In August of 2006, the Brazos Valley Bombers officially joined the Texas Collegiate League, one of the premier summer collegiate leagues in the country. The facility would be renamed Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark and has served as the Bombers’ home ever since.

With the Bombers set to begin play in June of 2007, the historic field underwent renovation that would begin to shape and mold the facility into what it is today. In addition to upgrading the field of play, the ballpark underwent some drastic changes, including the repainting and renovation of the entire grandstand and merchandise stand. The Founder’s Club section, which features the best view in the ballpark, was added using seats from another historic venue, Milwaukee County Stadium. New general admission seating was added on both baselines, bringing the park’s capacity to 2,121.

concession_with_logo.jpgGuests entering the front gate found a new, paved entryway and a brand new concession stand, as well as a new Kidz Zone and picnic area. Perhaps the most popular addition to the ballpark was the Party Deck, which overlooks the first base side of the field. Whether it is hosting a concert, pre-game picnic, or just serving as a place to relax and enjoy the game, the Party Deck always promises to provide new excitement!

Despite a successful inaugural season with the plethora of improvements, the work was not yet finished. In the offseason before the 2008 summer, a new ticket office and bathrooms were added to further enhance the ballpark experience. The VIP parking lot was paved and a new sidewalk was added, giving fans easier accessibility to the ballpark.

With each new season, more improvements are made on and off the field, providing fans with a new experience they won’t soon forget.
